Total Defence is on 15th February. I took the opportunity to explain to the kids the five defences. I also explained briefly the significance of 15th February to the children.
The five defences are
- Military
- Economic
- Social
- Psychological
- Civil
After explaining the five defences, each group was given a 'defence' to think about. They then had to draw out what their thoughts were on it. To add on, they had to write a simple simple sentence about their drawings. They were very innovative, they wrote 'We protect our country', ' We work hard for our country' and even the Pledge!
At the end of the session, only 5 drawings [ each depicting a different defence] would be chosen to be displayed on the Kidz Board [ outside the bookshop] for the month of February[ to commemorate Total Defence Day]. Look out for their drawings!
